Building HistoryMr. Hetherington, a retired lawyer, had a house on Church Street. the attic of which he loaned from time to time for seances held by a spiritualist from Chicago. He also offered to house the fledgling Unitarian group, and finally, when he wanted to move away from St. Catharines, he offered the house to the Unitarians for about $3,000, if they would agree to welcome the spiritualist when he visited at weekends. The offer was accepted, and a mortgage was raised which was soon paid off. Photos
