Bio for Terri Pothier

Theresa received her Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University in Halifax, N.S. After graduation Theresa auditioned for and received a scholarship to attend the Juilliard School of Music in New York.

During that era, she eventually became Director of Vocal Music for the schools in Dartmouth, N.S.; Vocal Soloist with the Armdale Girls Choir, which broadcast weekly, coast to coast on CBC; pianist for the Halifax Symphonette, also heard weekly on CBC; and vocal soloist with the Halifax Opera Association, which offered her a scholarship to study opera in Italy.

Choosing to marry and raise a family, Theresa moved to St. Catharines where she became very involved in local musical activities. She continued her vocal studies with Maureen Forrester in Toronto, while performing with the St. Catharines and Buffalo Symphonies. She is well known for the decades she taught at the St. Catharines Collegiate and for the many students who have passed through her private studio, winning at the Kiwanis Music Festivals in St. Catharines and Toronto and receiving high marks in the Royal Conservatory exams.
